sticks & shells | orange county child photographer

Three years gone by so fast! Alannah just keeps getting more beautiful every year.  I tried to let her do her thing as much as possible on this session, offering up some sticks if she wanted to draw in the sand and I found her some seashells…then she found some for me too :)

I really need to get better at doing thank you notes…but the days just seem to fly by… so in case I find myself into next week and my best intentions didn’t quite make it…

Mandy, Josh & Alannah: Thank you so much for having me be your photographer for the past three years.  It means so much to me to see her grow and to visit with you guys year after year.  I appreciate you coming back to me and your trust in me (which was more apparent this last session than ever ;) ).  It means so much to me that each session she is just a bit more comfortable and how you tell her stories about her pics from birth! xoxo!!

a perfectly framed sunday | Murrieta Family Photographer

Cathy wanted a session with all her kids & grand kids together.  It was a beautiful day…a bit chilly, but I’ll take it over any drizzle and rain! This group was great…so photogenic! I always try to get the must have shots done quick before little ones get grumpy, but they did so good we finish the session in less than an hour, I could of shot them all day!!  :)

Halloween Eve Mini Sessions in the Park

Halloween is almost here!! I’ve been planning on getting Jace’s makeup done, heading to the most natural local park I know in Murrieta, setting up a spooky netting fabric background with some pumpkins and doing a mini session of my little guy.  Then I got to thinking I should offer some mini sessions to other families that would want to do a mini session on Halloween!  So here are the details:

When: Halloween Early Evening (limited spaces available)

Where: Murrieta

How much: $60

Included: 20 minute session with 5 full resolution images emailed to you for download within 1 week and a collage of the top 3 images

What to bring: Your child/children/pets all dressed up and ready to.  Any props you may want to use with their costume.

If you are in need of a professional make up artist for your child’s Halloween or costume please let me know as I have hired a wonderful makeup artist for my son and we can set something up for you as well!

If I don’t see you and your little ones on Halloween, have a wonderful, safe night and take lots of pics of those cuties!! :)

May we give our children roots to grow | Murrieta Family Photographer

“May we give our children roots to grow and wings to fly”…..this is what Christine wants along with a photo of her family in their home.  That’s what the mission of this session was.  Of course we did individuals of each kids, mom with girls, dad with boys, just mom and dad and every other combo we could imagine.  I have to say and I hope she is reading…their family looks complete!!  It really does, she has her boys and I really don’t think they could find a car to fit more babies.  Plus they look really happy.

Here are my favorites….

They call themselves “The Great Big Mejia Family” :) 9710-19710-3This was also my first time meeting Ben, so we wanted to be sure to get lots of photos of him by himself…9710-49710-59710-69710-7

love, love, love….I want one like this!9710ok, so this little guy is 10 months old and already walking….being that we noticed he was missing a shoe as we were walking through the brush and naked piggies are so cute, we let him go for it!9710-89710-99710-10

Precious Memories | What a difference a camera makes

Trying to catch up on importing photos, organizing and getting used to the set up on my new iMac.  I came across some photos of Jace playing tent from June.  I really wanted to capture some photos of him being in the natural lighting that was in the room.  I bumped my Canon 5D Mark II to 6400 iso (I can’t even imagine what I would get on my 40D which only goes to 1600) and shot away.  Here is my favorite image from that night.  The first photo is the original with no adjustments but slight color correction.  The second I turned black and white.  There is some noise, but it doesn’t bother me at all…just happy to be able to capture him at day or night with no flash!
